Position: Skilled Woodworker

Timber Custom Woods is seeking a highly skilled woodworker to join our team, crafting high-end heirloom furnishings. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, helping transform our designs into durable, artistic pieces that uphold our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Craftsmanship
2. Accurately interpret and execute intricate furniture designs from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
3. Guarantee the consistent delivery of top-tier work that marries functionality with artistry.
4. Tool and Machine Operation
5. Safely and efficiently operate an array of woodworking tools and machinery, including but not limited to table saws, planers, routers, and sanders.
6. Undertake regular maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure operational safety and longevity.
7. Material Selection and Preparation
8. Choose the most suitable wood and materials for projects, factoring in grain patterns, color nuances, and compatibility.
9. Prep and treat wood to achieve the envisioned finish and robustness.
10. Collaboration and Communication
11. Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure the realization aligns with the initial vision.
12. Display exemplary listening skills, absorb feedback, and adhere to given directions, ensuring seamless team collaboration.
13. Communicate openly with direct supervisor regarding any challenges, questions or need to clarity.
14. Quality Control
15. Systematically inspect work at various production phases to guarantee quality adherence.
16. Promptly identify, rectify, or highlight any deviations or defects.
17. Continuous Learning
18. Keep abreast of evolving woodworking techniques, trends, and tools.
19. Participate in relevant workshops and training sessions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Education: A degree or diploma in woodworking, carpentry, or a related discipline is an asset but not mandatory.
2. Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in upscale furniture crafting.
3. Punctuality: Demonstrated history of reliability and being on time, recognizing the value of productivity and efficient team dynamics.
4. Detail-Oriented: An innate focus on precision and a relentless commitment to producing unparalleled quality.
5. Listening Skills: Proven ability to comprehend and execute based on instructions and feedback.
6. Physical Stamina: The capacity to stand for prolonged periods and regularly lift heavy objects, up to 100 lbs.
7. Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.

Hours and Benefits

1. Full time Monday-Friday schedule, 40 hours/week, some weekend work may be required.
2. Opportunities for continual professional enhancement.
3. This position is subject to a 90-day probationary period.

Salary: $23.00 to $26.50/hour
